Baker – ready to make bread and pastries people come back for?

The smell of freshly baked bread, a sweet bun with coffee or a pastry that makes someone’s day a little better. For us, good craftsmanship and care for ingredients are an important part of the guest experience. We are now looking for two bakers who enjoys hands-on work, is curious about the craft and wants to join our team.

Flåm Bakeri and Laksen Bakeri & Kafé in Lærdal make artisan breads, traditional Norwegian sweet buns and international pastries for locals and visitors alike. We also supply bread and baked goods to hotels and other dining venues in the area.

About the role

You will join our production team and take part in daily baking – from preparing dough to finishing products. Together with your colleagues, you will deliver consistently high quality and keep production running smoothly.

You will have opportunities to use your experience, learn from others and share ideas for new products and better ways of working.

Your key responsibilities

  • Make bread, sweet buns and other baked goods to a consistently high standard
  • Prepare and organise your work with the team
  • Handle ingredients with care and help reduce food waste
  • Follow procedures for hygiene, food safety and cleaning
  • Share ideas and help develop products and working methods

Who are we looking for?

You have practical baking experience, an interest in the craft and the motivation to keep learning. You take pride in what you make, pay attention to detail and enjoy working with others. You also understand how good preparation and reliable teamwork help production run smoothly.

A formal qualification as a baker is an advantage, but not a requirement. We value experience, interest and motivation just as much as formal education. Tell us about your experience, what you enjoy baking and what you would like to learn. Experience in cake making and decorating is also an advantage.

We coomunicate in English in the kitchen, therefore a good command of both written and spoken english is a requirement. Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not a requirement.
